Fewer foreigners have decided to buy properties in Singapore in the 3rd quarter this year compared to the previous quarter according to sources quoted.
The number of units bought by foreigners declined 36%. Despite this drop, the 4 nationalities, namely, Chinese, Malaysians, Indonesians and Indians remain the Republic’s top buyers of private properties in the first nine months of this year. In total, they bought a combined 81.3% of the 4,028 units this year.
US Foreign buyers remain the same as they are exempt from Additional Buyer Stamp Duty. Singapore’s free trade agreement with US means US citizens enjoy the same privileges as Singaporeans. No ABSD is applied to their 1st property. It remains to see wheather The Hillford Condo will appeal to these foreigners buyers.
